Struck for King Louis XVI at the Bayonne Mint (L mint mark). Larger and heavier than a US silver dollar. Well struck with a great portrait of this ill fated king. What appears to be scratches to the left of the king are on the holder. Certified by NGC to AU 53. Toned with underlying luster, very nice in hand. Vintage NGC holder, possible upgrade candidate.
