ANCIENT ROMAN/MEDIEVAL EVIL EYE RING, 4TH-8TH CENTURY AD, SIZE 5 ¼ medieval Size 7 ½ with 3Silvered bronze. Rounded face band 4. 1mm width. Elongated stepped bezel in the form of a squinting eye. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil.
