Ellis Bitter Size:M25 Described in the 1876 editionAn early bittersweet cider apple. Yellow green smooth waxy skin, heavily flecked with flush and slight russet. Flesh sweet and astringent, white, crisp and juicy. Flowers mid May. Harvest late September. Mature trees tend to be large and spreading. Slow to crop but then reliable, heavy fruit. A Devon variety also planted in the Long Ashton orchards in the 1930s. Triploid.
